Some of you who read the Derby Telegraph may have spotted that one of our Site Leaders Freyja was interviewed for their story “Derby is the least straight city in the UK outside London, new figures reveal”.
The article describes that new statistics about individuals’ sexual orientation within the city point to Derby being the most non-hetero city outside of London. Freyja talks about their experience of moving to Derby eight years ago and finding the LGBT+ community very welcoming and having never been subject to hate crime based on their sexual orientation.
Freyja agrees that Derby is progressive when it comes to LGBT+ issues and the whole team has a message for the community. No matter the size of the community, Hollaback! Derby is here for you if you are subject to street harassment. Please share your stories and/or access the signposting part of our website and interact with our social media sites.
